Marketing to Central and South America

In 1989, Graham Mosley, one of the owners of the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels, Texas, appointed Dr. Aldo A. Aguirre Director of Latin American Marketing, with the mandate to establish new markets for the firm in Mexico, and Central and South America. During his tenure in this capacity, Aguirre developed new contacts and branded the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in these markets. Aguirre created free junior and adult tennis clinics, whereby local residents could get a tasting of the Aussie style of instruction. Aguirre set up successful clinics in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Panama. He also established strong relationships with their national tennis federations. The firm found the outreach effort so effective that they sent Aguirre to promote the company in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay.

Establishing Roots in Las Vegas

In 1991, Aguirre moved to Las Vegas with the purpose of tending to his aging parents. He soon became involved with the local business community, as a board member on the Latin Chamber of Commerce Nevada (www.lvlcc.com). Aldo helped to establish the International Trade Committee and spearheaded collaborative agreements between the Mexican Gerneral Consulate and the Latin Chamber. He also facilitated a partnership with the Los Angeles-based Latin Business Association, where Aldo was also a board member. Aldo later chaired the Latin Chamber’s Business Development Committee. Aldo was also active in the national movement to establish North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA), hosting an event at the Ritz-Carlton at Lake Las Vegas, featuring the Guatemalan Ambassador and the Ambassador of Honduras, as well as Former Governor Bob Miller. Aguirre established Alianza Consulting Group in 2005, after consulting for six years with the state government of Nevada.
